Systematic Jammin\'As some people may know, back in the wee years of 2000 to 2004, I was the website designer and webmaster for the Elektra-signed hard rock band Systematic. Working with them was wonderful, and I think it really helped propel me to where I am now in my career (story forthcoming). Well, last night on my drive home from the movies (of course), a few tunes came on my iPod, and I felt an overwhelming urge to share them with everyone. They’re a few lesser known tracks the band released as online exclusives on their official website.

Tim Narducci, Adam Ruppel and the boys recorded Blue Oyster Cult’s classic “Career of Evil” and posted it on the site to introduce drummer-extraordinarre Paul Bostaph to the Systematic crew, as well as to serve as a teaser to their sophomore (and ultimately final) album “Pleasure to Burn”. Personally, I absolutely love this cover. It just plain rocks my socks off. Check it out:

These last 2 tracks are the last known recordings available from Systematic before they disbanded in 2004. This cover of David Bowie’s “Suffragette City” has long been one of my favorite cover songs recorded by any band… it gets my head bobbing every single time I hear it. Then we have a demo of “In the Unknown”, a track we can only guess would have been recorded for their third album that never came to be. So crank it up and enjoy!

Systematic were one of my favorite bands ever!! It’s a shame they didn’t realize how good their music was and stayed together for that reason alone!!

I’m glad I’m not the only person on the tubes that remembers these guys (yeah yeah, I know you do Wanda haha). Glad you were able to find some lost gems here on HMG, yo.

Shoot me an e-mail via the Contact Page and I may be inclined to send off some links to download the tracks. If I’m in a good mood.
