| Hard day to be lazy… |
|
|||
I’m very conflicted today. I stayed in bed until the glorious hour of 2pm, just letting myself bask in the knowledge that I don’t have to work today and it was a perfect time to catch up on the sleep I’ve been deperately lacking the last couple of nights. But then, I finally get up and look outside. It’s amazingly nice out. The sun’s out. The sky is blue and clear of all clouds. It’s a respectable 50 degrees. I’m feeling so lazy and have no desire to go outside, yet it feels like a complete waste of a great Spring day to not do so. Fuck, it’s so much easier to be lazy on a shitty day… |

While mindlessly searching the webs as usual, I came across an interesting post on Topless Robot listing out “20 Possible Battlestar Galactica Endings, All of Them Hideously Depressing“. I found it to be a humorous read, so I’m hoping if you haven’t seen it yet, you’ll enjoy it. I’m of course hoping that what we witness in these upcoming episodes doesn’t resemble anything on this list, though I’m pretty confident it will be just as depressing… I’m getting the sinking feeling many members of the Galactica crew won’t be making it to the final fade to black. I’ll be sure to post my thoughts once the final credits roll, but until then, let me know what you think. What are your thoughts? Do you think Battlestar will get a proper sendoff, or will we all be hugely disappointed when next weekend rolls around? Sound off in the comments. |
| Heeeere kitty kitty… |

I’m not sure if this is fake or not, considering the Sun is such a reliable source of news and events, but either way it made me laugh. The article reads: Fireman giving “kiss of life” accidentally inhales kitty
Gannett Rochester Newspaper “A brave fireman was rushed to the hospital for injuries suffered in the line of duty after he swallowed a tiny kitten while trying to revive it with the kiss of life,” the “Sun” reports in its Sept 7 issue. Firefighter Sven Larsen, 34, was inside a burning warehouse near Stockholm, Sweden, when he found a 6 ounce kitten gasping for air. “He ran over and started to do CPR on the kitten,” Fire Chief Harald Thorensen is quoted as saying. “I was standing right next to him and the next thing I knew, he gulped real hard and swallowed the animal.” The kitten did not survive, but animal rights activists plan to honor Larsen. All I could think about after reading that was this… though this would be the opposite of the “kiss of life” I suppose: |

| Mystery Team: THE MOVIE! |
|

This flick premiered at Sundance this past January and received an enormous amount of praise and support from numerous magazines and websites, including Entertainment Weekly, CHUD.com, Slashfilm.com and Cinematical.com. No news yet on if and when this will be hitting DVD, but it looks like the movie is making the rounds with some small private screenings… one of which is today in New York City. Be sure to check into the film’s official website for more info, and of course go to DerrickComedy.com for some good laughs. |

My goal for Heavy Metal Geek is and always has been to make a site that not only pleases myself to write, but pleases others to read as well. I enjoy writing about a number of topics, though as you can probably tell if you’ve looked through the 100 or so posts that currently makes up this site, I usually stick pretty close to 3 things: Music, Movies and all that is geek. For the hell of it, I’d like to take a quick minute here and ask you, the poor fuck who’s somehow stumbled onto my website, what you’d like to see here on HMG.
